This report is currently unavailable
Report summary
Polyethylene markets gained momentum heading into the peak season, but improvements were below expectations. Demand still outweighed supply as outages caused a shortfall of domestic product and players drew down inventories. LLDPE was tight as Sasol’s new production was outstripped by outages at existing suppliers. HDPE continued to be the most robust grade in Q2. The US-China trade dispute returned to the fore as new tariffs were imposed, causing concern for US importers of plastic goods.
