North American production in November slowed as producers look to shed inventories heading into 2020. There was also a temporary outage at Braskem’s La Porte, TX facility, early in the month. Domestic demand remains weak as projected November sales fall to 2019 low, and global markets continue to be weighed down by moderate growth in durable goods. YTD November domestic consumption is currently down 2.4% from the same period in 2018. Automotive sales for YTD November 2019 vs. November 2018 were 11% lower in the region. PGP prices fell 2 cents per pound in December. Polypropylene homopolymer export and domestic prices also fell in December with export prices reaching a ten year low.
