Russia and The Caspian ethylene: update of pre-FID investments
Report summary
As we look forward, Wood Mackenzie sees that the global ethylene industry will call for approximately 70 million tons of additional ethylene capacity (hypothetical capacity) needed in the global market by 2035. This is just to meet our base case demand forecast. Where this capacity could be placed is answered in our strategic longer-term ethylene market outlook. Global ethylene capacity additions are being studied in all parts of the world. The Russia and The Caspian region is one location that we see further expansion of capacity expected by 2035 and several projects are currently in the pre-FID stage. This insight provides a concise review of each project - including company, location, ethylene capacity, feedstock and refinery integration.
