Commodity Market Report
Vinyls global monthly market overview January 2020
This report is currently unavailable
Report summary
Domestic US PVC prices have not settled for January, but the oft-delayed push by producers for better prices is taking hold. A tightening market is combining with more optimistic demand outlooks – we now forecast a 3 cpp increase between January and February on domestic PVC. Global PVC prices are rising in export markets, helping pull VCM and EDC upward. Caustic soda values are not likely to contribute to better chain margins in the short term and announced price increases for January were unsuccessful. Ample supplies continue to provide caustic buyers with the ability to resist the pricing initiatives.
