Indorama Ventures Public Company Limited (IVL), announced on 16 August that it has agreed to acquire Brazil-based Oxiteno S.A. Indústria e Comércio, which is subsidiary of Ultrapar Participações S.A . IVL will purchase Oxiteno for US$1.3 billion (subject to adjustments at closing). Oxiteno is one of the leading integrated surfactants producers, highly specialized in end-use markets in the Americas.
