On 13th November 2017, Aurizon confirmed that it is in discussions in relation to a potential restructuring proposal to acquire the Wiggins Island Coal Export Terminal (WICET). As part of the proposal Macquarie and Brookfield would acquire one or more of WICET's source mines and secure long-term contractual volume at WICET.
