Report summary
The fresh restocking demand provides the boost to keep coal prices buoyed in the interim. Weather disruptions in Australia due to La Nina and logistical challenges across most suppliers added additional support. Despite ongoing uncertainties about Chinese demand, imports remain exceptionally strong. Price weakening is on the cards for exporters into China as domestic coal production and large stockpiles are expected to drive down QHD prices and import prices in the future.
