Kuansing Inti Makmur (KIM) is a sub-bituminous thermal coal mine, covering a 26 square kilometre area over eight adjacent concessions in the Jambi province of Sumatra. KIM is located about 300 kilometres to the south-east of the Padang Port in West Sumatra. The mine operates two pits - KIM East and KIM West - under Izin Usaha Pertambangan Produksi (IUPs) that were awarded in 2009 and 2010.
