Report summary
The outlook for Mongolia's coal industry relies heavily on China's imports. Coal exports benefit from high commodity prices and the shortage of low-sulphur coking coal in China. Exports from Mongolia in 2023 and 2024 see major increase without the disruptions of the anti-covid measures, and the strong demand from the Chinese steel mills with considerably low margins.
