On June 29, 2015 the United States Supreme Court overturned the EPA's Mercury and Air Toxics Standards. In Michigan v. EPA, the court found the EPA improperly interpreted sections of the Clean Air Act when it "deemed cost irrelevant to the decision to regulate power plants."
