Ulan West coal mine
Report summary
Ulan West is an underground mine that forms part of Glencore's Ulan mining complex producing thermal coal for export markets. The complex includes another underground mine, Ulan (Underground) (covered in a separate analysis) and the Ulan surface mine that was closed in 2016. The Ulan complex incorporates mining leases ML 1341, ML 1366, ML 1468, ML 1511, ML 1554, consolidated coal lease CCL 741, and exploration licences EL 7542 and EL8687.
