Our sister company, Verisk Maplecroft, published their view on what to expect from China's 'Two Sessions' that kicked off on 21 May 2020 – one of the most important political events in the calendar. The Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference – an advisory body – and the National People’s Congress – the rubber-stamp legislature – simultaneously meet once a year in March, but this year's sessions were postponed for a couple of months due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The event is expected to provide direction on short term policy and long term growth aspirations. As China looks to move past its virus outbreak, announcements on stimulus to rebound China's economy are key. Can China be a lifeline for the hard hit global economy?
