On 17 January, China released the 13th Five-Year Plan (FYP) on energy development, the guidelines for its overall energy policies through to 2020. In this plan, China sets targets for energy supply and demand. It also aims to transform the way energy is produced and consumed by lifting existing constraints, particularly on technology innovation and market governance.
