Wilpinjong coal mine
Report summary
Wilpinjong is a large, low cost, surface mine in the western coalfield of the Sydney Basin producing thermal coal for both domestic and export markets. With a raw production capacity of around 16 Mtpa, Wilpinjong is among the largest coal operations in Australia. Wilpinjong is located 10 kilometres south-east of Glencore's Ulan mine and 40 kilometres north-east of Mudgee. Mining activities take place within ML 1573 and 1779.
