2020 Wood Mackenzie Energy Transition China Forum: Webinar on the transition decade ahead for Asia Pacific Power
Report summary
We are living through a revolution in power technology, as both wind and solar costs have now fallen below those of gas-fired power in Asia Pacific and are expected to become competitive with new coal power by the late 2020s. Wood Mackenzie expects $1.5 trillion to be invested in power generation in Asia Pacific in the next decade, with an incredible two-thirds going into renewables. China takes half the total. However, there is growing uncertainty in the market, as subsidies for renewables are cut and grid constraints are hit in key markets. Our experts present views on some of the key trends and growth opportunities ahead. This two-hour webinar was presented on 18 November 2020 in Chinese. Presentations focusing on power markets were given by four Wood Mackenzie experts, and the slide deck is mainly in English with bilingual titles.
