APAC Energy Buzz: From 'revenge spending' to plunging exports, China's path to economic recovery remains uncertain
This report is currently unavailable
Report summary
China’s is re-opening as the country looks to revive economic growth. Consumers are leading the way as they kick start the economy through increased consumption – the much awaited ‘revenge spending’. But the outlook appears unbalanced. Industrial output must swing back into top gear to drive growth. Domestic consumption is rising but with a global recession looming, China’s export engine is sputtering. Without a broader global recovery there can be no quick return to pre-crisis levels for both China’s industrial manufacturers and their demand for energy.
