Already oversupplied, the global LNG market has come out of a mild winter straight into the headlock of a global pandemic that is impacting demand across the world’s major gas markets as rapidly as it is damaging their economies. What does this mean for spot LNG prices? In the current environment it is not easy to call a fundamental floor. With weakening demand and no clear supply response yet, sellers are desperate for market. Right now, with Asia well supplied that means Europe. Zero netbacks may not be far away.
