Commodity Market Report
Cyprus energy markets long-term outlook 2018
Report summary
Cyprus total energy consumption is expected to increase by 7% by 2035. The largest increases in demand are seen in gas and renewables. Gas is expected to be introduced to the market in 2021 with the start-up of an FSRU at Vasilikos in South Cyprus. Oil demand will decline over the forecast despite demand increasing in the transport sector. The introduction of gas into the Cypriot market is key to ensuring emissions are reduced.
