Germany energy markets long-term outlook 2020
Report summary
Energy consumption in Germany has been hit hard by the coronavirus outbreak. At the same time, it helped the country meet its 2020 target of 40% reduction of GHG emissions compared to 1990. Looking ahead, Germany's next target is 65% of GHG emissions by 2030. To do so, the country needs a timely phase-out of its coal capacity in the power sector, as well as strong energy efficiency measures. You will find the explanatory slides in the 'Downloads' section of this page.
