Commodity Market Report
Greece energy markets long-term outlook 2017
Report summary
Since 2008, Greek energy consumption has declined by an average of 4% per year mirroring a GDP contraction of the same magnitude. In 2014 energy demand stabilised for the first time since the beginning of the crisis, but additional demand contractions happened again in 2016 and are expected to continue to 2020. By 2035 end-use demand will remain 20% below 2008 levels as a result of the permanent demand destruction.
