Jordan energy markets long-term outlook 2020: is the energy diversification strategy working?

“Jordan 2025”, the government’s economic blueprint for Jordan, maps out a plan to boost its economy and achieve energy security. This includes diversifying the energy mix and supporting the Kingdom’s drive to reduce its reliance on imports. The plan has 2020 targets to diversify the electricity mix, including achieving 20% of renewables generation and 15% of oil generation, through its domestic shale oil developments.
