Wood Mackenzie’s 2021 energy transition outlook: Highlights
Report summary
With COP26 less than two weeks away, net zero pledges now cover over 71% of global CO₂ emissions, a figure expected to grow further. However, the scale of the challenge is considerable – no major market is yet on course. Furthermore, the backdrop of a brewing energy crisis has brought unwelcome focus to the world’s thirst for more energy – with fossil-fuels still contributing 80% of primary energy demand, the pace of the transition is coming under increased scrutiny.
