Bolivia gas, power and renewable long-term outlook H1 2018: overcoming challenges to keep strong
This report is currently unavailable
Report summary
For the last decade Bolivia has been the major Southern Cone gas supplier and has exported on average 41.9 mmcmd since 2010. Maintaining this role in the long-term requires investments to discover and develop new gas fields to offset expected declines in the existing major fields. To ease concerns of lack of gas supply for the export markets and to transition towards a greener future, Bolivia is investing heavily on hydropower. Seven big hydro projects, some under construction and some planned, will aid the country in shifting its power mix from thermal to hydro.
