Coronavirus: impact on European gas markets
Report summary
Europe has become the epicentre for active Coronavirus cases. Countries are taking bold and necessary action to limit the spread. Our coverage now includes a Pan-Europe report tracking impacts to European gas production, assessing lost industrial gas demand by month, as well as the impact to prices. Detailed analysis of gas demand at risk from lockdowns is available for three of Europe's largest gas consuming markets: Italy, France and Spain. Extending the loss of gas demand since lockdowns from pre-Covid-19 projections over a three-month period, we estimate up to 7 bcm of lost Italian, Spanish and French gas demand in 2020.
