Latin America and the Caribbean gas long-term outlook H2 2020 highlights
This report is currently unavailable
Report summary
The gas markets in Latin America and the Caribbean suffered from a mix of the pandemic and ineffective policies in 2020. For the latter, the most significant was Argentina’s gas price controls, which diminished gas production. Nevertheless, on the gas demand side, the dry season in the region – mostly in Colombia over the first half of the year and Brazil over Q4 – resulted in higher levels of LNG imports compared to 2019. Mexico is also expected to increase gas demand due to the lack of support for renewables from the current administration.
