North America Gas: 2018 in review and five things to look for in 2019
Report summary
The North American gas market ended 2018 at the highest NYMEX-settled contract price since May 2014. Annual gas production grew at an unprecedented rate, but demand and exports proved an able match for the growth. Looking ahead, production still sets the stage for a relatively range-bound price forecast, but the outlook for storage inventories, LNG exports and power burns will drive periodic market volatility as they move out of sync with expected production increases. See what else we are watching as 2019 gets off the ground.
