Commodity Market Report
North America gas markets weekly update: Storage deficit declining rapidly
Report summary
We expect below normal withdrawals for the next three storage reports. Likely inventory debits of 33 bcf, 70 bcf and 40 bcf of gas to be taken out of storage through January 11. During the same three weeks last year withdrawals of 206 bcf, 359 bcf and 183 bcf occurred. Fears of storage shortages this winter have all but disappeared. That is also being reflected in futures prices for this winter that have declined to the same level they were at in September.
