Commodity Market Report
North America gas markets weekly update: Volatility remains high
Report summary
The country returned from the New Year holiday last week and prices were lower than they had been in a couple months. In spite of the warm weather demand seemed to strengthen from the holiday doldrums. We expect 84 bcf, 138 bcf and 184 bcf of gas to be taken out of storage through January 25. During the same three week period last year withdrawals were about 200 bcf larger. Gas prices spiked by 60 cents over the last two trading days due to cold weather in the forecast.
