Following a collapse toward springtime lows in late July, Henry Hub gas prices have rebounded back above $2/mmbtu this month but are since little changed despite the ping-pong of recent volatility. Record gas burns and a recommencement of producer supply curtailments rallied prices near $2.30/mmbtu before meeting resistance with the weak fall shoulder season looming. Nevertheless, a more constructive market is set to arise this winter and into 2025. This month’s North America gas commodity report seeks to answer: • Will production curtailments continue in the fall? • How is an earlier and faster LNG Canada ramp up impacting net imports? • When will storage balances normalize?
