Commodity Market Report
North America gas weekly update: another early winter?
Report summary
Weather is giving us another rally, as an intensifying shot of cold in late October and early November has pushed prompt prices up by another $0.30/mmbtu. Higher HDDs translate into a significant injection fall-off after this week. Has winter come early this year? If only we had a groundhog. Alas, as it is, we must rely on American and European short-term weather models, which show significant divergence. Can the cold persist? Non-weather fundamentals are not helping the bulls, as production continues to outperform demand increases from LNG. When will that show weakness?
