Another hurricane may threaten offshore Gulf of Mexico (GoM) production in the eastern Gulf this week, even before supply shut-ins related to Hurricane Francine have fully recovered. Despite growing storage additions in the weeks to come, an undersupplied market continues to result in lighter-than-normal shoulder season storage injections. With tight supply and a contracting storage surplus, Henry Hub prices have rallied above $2.60/mmbtu in recent days, its highest levels since June. This weekly natural gas commodity report seeks to explore: • Why is offshore GoM production not fully restored? • How much feedgas demand will be lost from Cove Point LNG’s annual maintenance? • How much will the storage surplus contract entering October?
