Commodity Market Report
North America gas weekly update: Henry Hub searching for a gas price floor
Report summary
Henry Hub gas prices continue their slide. Milder weather conditions expected throughout the rest of February have limited heating loads and hence storage withdrawals. As a result, the storage surplus is increasing and further pressuring prices. Where do North American gas markets go from here? • FERC approval to restart Freeport LNG Trains 3 and 2 will be welcome news to help tighten markets • A higher gas generation share for power has been additive on the demand side • However, supply needs to slow down sooner than later
