Commodity Market Report
North America gas weekly update: Hot air blowing
Report summary
It’s hot. An increase in CDDs for the remainder of August is breathing life back into the soon expiring prompt NYMEX September contract, but we might finally start to see some regional relief as we enter the new month. Wind is helping to ease strain on gas power generation, and together with a decline in temperatures, slightly higher US production, and LNG maintenance, we might see an increase in gas storage injections as we enter the fall season.
