North America gas weekly update: Hot start to July but storage injections fail to normalize
Report summary
Hotter weather is not yet normalizing injections. It's causing a rally in the prompt August Henry Hub price, but on the whole, seemingly bullish market factors such as higher gas power burns and greater LNG feed gas levels are not enough to bring down injections. On the other side of the equation, production has finally showed up to the party. Will it or a cooler weather from a potential tropical system in the Gulf pull the punch bowl just as the rally was getting started?
