North America gas weekly update: Injection season starts
Report summary
Injection season is starting, but not for all regions quite yet. Despite the East and Midwest coming a little later, we project working gas storage to end March at 1.77 Tcf, not far off the five-year average of 1.8 Tcf. After the bullish price sentiment at the start of winter, the overall mild weather has dropped the market off securely near the market average. Degree days are falling off week-over-week, which means Henry Hub gas price support is relying on strong LNG and Mexican exports, and we expect US gas production to back down, if prices are to rise higher.
