Two greater than expected storage injections have led to another Henry Hub sell-off, countering much of the $0.65/mmbtu rally the market saw since early August. Can Henry Hub prices avoid sinking back down further into the abyss again? Two factors are front of mind: the cause behind these outsized injections and what weather can do. Is production higher, especially in the Permian? Is industrial demand suffering from recent rainfall and flooding? Are weather dependent demand models not properly capturing seasonal transitions? And when will weather flip colder and support prices?
