Prompt January 2023 Henry Hub gas prices that rallied strong entering Thanksgiving weekend, on anticipation of colder weather and Freeport LNG’s restart in mid-December, have now been crushed by over $2/mmbtu, with cash prices heading even lower. Heating load requirements have underperformed with no significant cold risks for the remainder of December. Freeport LNG has once again delayed its restart guidance to yearend.
