North America gas weekly update: Searching… for a floor
Report summary
The shoulder season doldrums have the US gas market searching for a floor—and it hasn't found it yet. May 2019 prompt Henry Hub prices have slid below $2.60/mmbtu as heating demand has dissipated and Rockies production has picked up. Recovering feed gas demand is helping to tighten the imbalance, but the threat of further production increases looms over a loose supply/demand balance. We expect working gas storage to increase to 1.44 tcf by the week ending April 26.
