An uncommon weekly summer storage withdrawal occurred for the week ending 9 August. The last time that occurred was on the week ending 29 July 2016. Like that week, a 6 bcf withdrawal was reported, with the primary culprit from larger than expected South Central withdrawals. In fact, South Central withdrawals were even higher this year at 27 bcf. This weekly natural gas commodity report seeks to explore: • Is power demand seasonally declining? • Has US gas production fallen off further? • Have LNG feedgas volumes been impacted by latest pipe issues?
