North America gas weekly update: the fall of injections
Report summary
Injections are tempering. HDDs are starting to rise, and storage operators are preparing to convert into withdrawal mode. Total injections this season look to top out at a cumulative 2.6 tcf—not quite as high as the record 2014 total injection of 2.8 tcf, but certainly higher than last year’s 2 tcf. Our price forecast remains above the NYMEX forward curve this winter, as we believe production is slowing, and if persistent cold can continue into November, another gas price rally may be in store.
