North America gas weekly update: US gas production ramps up again
Report summary
Over the Labor Day holiday weekend, daily US gas production once again set a new record high. Gains are largely a recovery from maintenance and outage events, but ever-growing record Haynesville volumes are leading the charge higher. Injections are set to pick up the pace with falling demand levels amidst ramping up supply. However, storage deficits are not being significantly reduced. That said, entering the winter with US gas production on a higher-than-expected upward trajectory does provide much-needed market relief. In the weeks ahead the North America gas market asks: • Will the Northeast production not just recover but offer growth? • With still no impacts from storm activity are we now in the clear? • What impacts do volatile global gas markets have, if any?
