Russia and China have agreed a long-awaited deal to supply 38 bcm per annum of gas from Gazprom's East Siberian fields into China via the planned 3,000 kilometre Power of Siberia pipeline. Russia has established a new export route for its pipe gas into a growing market, away from its legacy European customers. China has secured competitive volumes of gas from a new pipe importer to satisfy long-term demand in its north-east region.
