Report summary
December brought cold weather to Northern Europe and Northeast Asia, with European regas running close to capacity and UK’s flows to the continent falling. In NE Asia, seasonal imports picked up, and an extra boost to Chinese demand is expected as COVID-related restrictions loosen. But the fundamentals are still strong – weather-adjusted European demand is lower than average, gas storage is high across Europe and Asia, allowing Asia to remain calm despite cold weather forecast for the next two weeks.
