Report summary
The TTF front-month contract surged +20% to above US$23/mmbtu – its highest level since the start of the conflict – with the end of the restocking period in sight. Prospects for a peace deal are ever more distant, despite a proposed framework for managing shipping through the Strait of Hormuz. Europe is outcompeting Asia at these price levels, attracting marginal LNG cargoes from the Atlantic basin. After several months of procurement strength, the Asian LNG price premium over NW European LNG has shrunk to less than $1/mmbtu.
