LNG short-term webinar: May 2022
Report summary
Lack of cargo slots in NW Europe keeps pressure on on-water LNG prices. European gas prices continue to trend below $30/mmbtu as abundant piped gas and LNG imports are forced into storage and gas-to-coal switching required to balance the internal gas market. Lack of cargo slots at NWE LNG terminals allowed large LNG-on-water price discounts to continue through May. Weak China LNG demand has resulted in a long Asian balance, forcing price parity to Atlantic LNG.
