LNG trade in 2018 in charts and tables
Report summary
LNG trade grew by 28 Mt in 2018, which is more than enough to supply the fourth biggest market - India. While the growth in supply was lower than 2017, higher re-exports meant imports grew faster than in 2017. Australia, Yamal LNG in the Russian arctic and the USA provided most of the new supply. China led the way in absorbing the additional supply with another record year of growth. South Korea and South Asia also absorbed a large chunk of the new supply. At the end of the year NW Europe saw a big increase in LNG imports and send-out from regas terminals. The Excel downloads with this report contain tables of LNG imports and exports by country and region (by month and year) and a series of charts highlighting some of the main themes in LNG trade in 2018.
