Tortue is a giant deepwater gas field straddling the border of Senegal and Mauritania. Development of the field is currently proposed to be carried out in two phases. Phase 1, a 2.45 mmtpa development which took FID in Dec 2018 and is expected to come online in Q1 2025. And Phase 2, with a capacity of around 2.7 mmtpa.In February 2018, Mauritania and Senegal signed an Inter-Governmental Cooperation Agreement (ICA).
