During the bidding war over Anadarko, Total reached a binding agreement with Occidental to acquire Anadarko's upstream assets in Africa. This includes its 26.5% stake in the 12.9 mmtpa Mozambique LNG project (upstream and LNG plant) where Anadarko is the operator. Occidental and Anadarko confirmed the merger on 9 May.
