2014 Emerging Market Turmoil: Argentina Brief
This report is currently unavailable
Report summary
In light of recent turmoil in emerging markets and escalating civil unrest, Wood Mackenzie is reassessing the outlook of those economies most at risk. Unlike the wobbles of other emerging markets, the factors causing Argentina's recent economic concerns have been caused by domestic policies. Excessive fiscal and monetary stimulus coupled with subsidised energy are causing foreign exchange reserves to fall rapidly and the peso has been forced to devalue. Recession is a distinct possibility.
