EMEARC economic outlook H1 2018: full steam ahead or running out of steam?
Report summary
In this Insight we assess the economic outlook for economies in the EMEARC region to 2040. Europe is on a good run of economic growth hitting a 10-year high in 2017. Momentum is carried into 2018 but the question is: how long can this expansion continue? Oil producing economies are buoyed by oil prices recovering to $70/bbl. But governments must continue to focus on diversification if longer-term growth is to decouple from the fate of oil markets. What impact will demographics, automation and inequality have on European growth over the longer term?
